Court Rules Police Don't Need A Warrant To Get Your Cellphone Records

A federal appeals court ruled on Wednesday that the public has no reasonable expectation of privacy when it comes to their cell phone location records. Cops don’t need a search warrant to get access to cell tower location records when investigating criminal cases because this information belongs to a third party, according to the ruling.
