Sidecar to shut down, winnowing field of Uber, Lyft competitors

Sidecar Technologies Inc., a smaller rival to Uber whose investors include Google Inc.’s venture-capital arm and British billionaire Richard Branson, said in a blog post Tuesday it is shutting down its ride-sharing and delivery services and putting its team to work on new projects.
