Technology companies have only modestly outperformed the S&P 500 in 2016-the sector is up 8.6% year-to-date, compared with the benchmark index's 6.9% rise, and five of the 10 primary sectors have seen stronger gains-but you wouldn't know it to look at hedge funds.
