Could Facebook Sue The Police For Violating Its Terms Of Service?
Last week, Facebook lost a bid to protect 381 users from search warrants issued by the Manhattan District Attorney in connection with an alleged Social Security disability fraud case. Facebook argued both that search warrants were overly broad and that the users in question should have been notified about them. But according to the New York Daily News, a panel of Appellate judges ruled Facebook didn’t have legal standing to contest the warrants and had to hand over access to the accounts with no notification to the users.
