In-Flight Personal Video: 5 Ways to Improve the Experience

I don’t really travel by air all that much. But for various reasons this summer, I’ve been a jet-setter. On four trips thus far in the past six weeks, I’ve flown on planes from four airline brands: American, U.S. Air (part of the American family), Southwest and Delta. Each has offered in-flight entertainment systems that I could access through my smartphone and tablet. On these networks, you can watch TV shows and movies, read e-books, play games, track your flight and if you pay extra, surf the web. While I prefer using seat-back screens the most for entertainment, I love this personal portable device concept. One plane -- I can’t recall which -- offered this option plus a movie on the overhead screens.
