The Big Chill In Archive Storage
SMR HDDs provide large capacity for with fast read for seldom-changed data. This is idea for an archive application. Writing requires more time since prior written data must be moved and then rewritten to add additional data. Expect to see more SMR HDDs in advanced storage systems.
