Here's Why Facebook, Amazon & WalMart May Be Racing To Buy Taboola

Four (4) developments in Q4 2015 lead me to believe that Facebook, Amazon, WalMart, Alibaba & Google are fixating on Taboola: On October 6 Adobe declared Shoppable Media: The Next Frontier and offered a link which revealed it can turn any media (including video) into “shoppable hotspots”. On October 27 Internet Retailer reported that Williams-Sonoma’s first “shoppable” blog post on its youth-focused version of Pottery Barn (PBTeen) had click-through rates which were 110% higher than those on the brand’s other blog posts thanks to marketing vendor Curalate’s new product Reveal On November 17, Curalate announced it had 700 customers including Anthropologie, Buzzfeed, Crate & Barrel, Disney Consumer Products, Gilt Groupe, QVC, Saks Fifth Avenue, Sephora, and Urban Outfitters. On December 3, Taboola announced its ‘content you may like’ recommendation engine deployed on sites including USA TODAY, Business Insider, Chicago Tribune and The Weather Channel was now producing over 1.15 billion clicks-per-month. Seeing the forest for the trees
